The Capital City Commences Construction of the Tu Lien Bridge

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham emphasized the project’s importance, stating that it will enhance connectivity between the two districts and improve transport links between the capital and neighboring provinces.

Specifically, the Tu Lien Bridge will provide a direct connection between Hanoi’s downtown area and the National Exhibition Center, as well as better access to Gia Binh Airport.

The Prime Minister set a target for the project to be completed within 24 months, aiming to mark the 137th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh in May 2027.

The Tu Lien Bridge construction project, including the road at both ends, consists of four components with a total investment of approximately VND 20,171 billion. This includes site clearance costs of VND 4,332 billion and construction investment of VND 15,839 billion.

With a total length of about 5.15km, the project will connect Nghi Tam Street in Tay Ho District to Truong Sa Street in Dong Anh District.

This bridge is part of Hanoi’s plan to construct 18 bridges over the Red River by 2030, with a vision towards 2050.

According to Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Tran Sy Thanh, the city is also set to build six more bridges over the Red River this year, including the Hong Ha Bridge, Me So Bridge (Ring Road 4), Thuong Cat and Ngoc Hoi Bridge (Ring Road 3.5), as well as the Tran Hung Dao Bridge and Van Phuc Bridge.
