Netflix Blocked From Streaming Services in Vietnam: Broadcasting Department
The Department of Broadcasting, Television, and Electronic Information, a division of the Ministry of Information and Communications, announced that Netflix will commence operations in Vietnam on Monday, confirming the news that many in the industry had anticipated. As per Vietnam’s Law on Cinematography, Netflix’s services will be permitted to operate as a film distribution platform via the Internet, a move that aligns with the country’s regulatory framework. This law, the department explained, mandates that all films made available on the platform undergo a classification process and are duly reported to the relevant state authorities, ensuring compliance with content regulations.
